December 2011
People think that I want to get my license and a car just for selfish purposes only. Little do they know.. As much as I want to be able to drive myself places, I know it will also help my parents out because then they wouldn’t have to complain/worry about taking me anywhere. It would also be easier for me to get to school and work, and it would also be easier on them when I have school...
so is every “deep” post considered “cool” if it’s posted in the form of an iphone conversation or
2011 in a nutshell.
This year was a year of growth for me. (Not physically, because well, I’m pretty small. Haha.) If any, this year was the one that changed me the most—it impacted the way I handled my struggles, the way I viewed relationships, and the way my thought process works. Below are a list of things that I remember from this year:
I got rid of a relationship that was no good for me. This was...
It's nice to be home.
Most people try to “live it up” during days off of school by partying, going out every day, etc. And while it is nice to go hang out once in a while, I do love staying at home. It allows me to relax and just chill in the comfort of these four walls. I don’t have to worry about getting dolled up or anything; I can just stay in my pajamas and watch Boy Meets Worlds DVDs all day....
The little things
I love how you stayed up late last night until your parents fell asleep just to steal your phone back and talk to me for a little while to remind me how much you love me. It’s crazy how you’ve continued to take those little actions every day to show me you care me about me, just like you did 8 months ago when we first started talking. It goes to show me that you’re in it for the...
Happy birthday, Jesus. ♥ You are the reason for the season and I hope everyone remembers that as we spend time with our loved ones. We shouldn’t worry about what presents we do and don’t get because it isn’t our birthday—it’s Yours. Merry Christmas, everyone! Have a great one and stay safe.
I have work on Christmas Eve from 5pm-10 Merry Christmas to me from Tommy Hilfiger
It wasn’t until recently that I started questioning why people make New Year’s resolutions. Why wait until the beginning of a new year to change? I mean, sure, it’s a “new beginning,” but if you really want to alter something about yourself or the way you do things, take action at the moment you realize that you don’t like the way you act. You don’t need a...
I bet all the “shoeheads” who camped out for Concords last night didn’t even know that there was an OG pair of XI’s released back in ‘95. Smh.
omg freaking jehovah’s witnesses scared the crap outta me they came banging at my door yelling, “HEY!” i freaked out because i thought it was the guy who was on the news last night you know, the guy running loose around San Jose with a gun omg i was shaking for the longest time
From point A to point B, nothing will separate you...
Last night, my boyfriend and I engaged in one of the most serious talks we have ever had. It started when he texted me saying, “Sorry [I replied late] babe, I was talking to my dad about what’s going to happen at the end of the [school] year.” I asked him what was going to happen even though I already had an idea: He mentioned to me a couple of months ago how his family has been...
It honestly breaks my heart to see people who don’t have anything. I’ve been very blessed to have the necessities such as clothing, shelter, clean water, etc. Year round, there are people who have nothing, literally. They live on the streets, gathering up all the little scraps of food that they can just to have something to fill their stomachs. It hurts a lot to see homeless/less...
Why do we question things that have yet to happen? Why do we ask, “What if?” Do we do it because we dislike our current circumstances and wish for them to be different or do we do so because we’re afraid of the future and what it has to offer?
This led to a really genuine conversation that had...
Him: No forreal.. I look and you and I'm just like, damn.. that's MY girl.
Me: *giggles*
Him: No like really. It's one of those "what did I do to deserve you" feelings.
During a Christmas sermon at my church’s youth night, my youth pastor shared a story with us about a Christian family and what Christmas meant to them. The family was sitting around the dinner table, as they do every year. They set aside a special place for Jesus at the table and call their Christmas dinner “Jesus’ Birthday Celebration.” When asked if she had gotten...
Touchy subject
I don’t like when people comment on my weight. Yes, I know I’m skinny and underweight for my age, but you don’t need to point it out. People always tell me, “You need to eat more!” or “Omg you’re so skinny!” Tell me something I don’t know. I usually just laugh it off but it gets to me sometimes. It’s like, dude.. I DO eat a lot....
Sometimes you have to praise your way through your problems.
I know it’s not any time soon, but.. I’ll be turning 18 in a year and a half. That’s crazy; time flies by so quickly. In about 5 months I’ll be done with my junior year in high school and getting ready for my last year at Independence. They didn’t lie when they said high school goes by fast. I think one of the things I’m really looking forward to is my...

From surprising me in class with Christmas grams, to carrying my really heavy book for me all day, and giving me his jacket to keep me warm.. man, it’s a great feeling when someone takes great care of you.
The words of a child can be so touching
For those of you who don’t know, I’m apart of the Teaching Academy program at my school. Teaching Academy students go out to teach/do field studies every week, where we have an assigned elementary or middle school class that we go to. My partner Paula and I visit a second grade class every Tuesday, and this week we taught out first lesson, which was about giving. We had the students...
I cried like a baby.
Him: Babe.. my mind is set.
Me: On..?
Him: You don't ever have to be scared of losing me. I'm always going to be here.
Me: I sure hope so, babe..
Him: Really. Don't worry. It's going to be me and you forever and ever, okay? I love you so much. I never, ever want to lose you.
If you’re gonna vent to/lay out all your problems on me, the least you can do is say hi first. I hate when people hit me up and the first thing they do is complain/vent/etc. It’s like, uhhhh, hi to you too. And then when they’re done venting, they just end the conversation as if the only thing they wanted to do was let out all their anger on you. Don’t get me wrong:...

It kind of bugs me that everyone’s only saying “YOLO” now because of Drake. Uhhh, the saying was around long before that song came out..
Okay forreal My camera charger is always lying on my floor at the most random times But then when I need it, it’s nowhere to be found WHAT THE FLYING FLADOODLES
One of my lifetime goals is to make an impact in someone’s life—no matter how big or small, I desire to do what I can in my ability to help another individual out. As the holiday season arrives, I am reminded that “giving” should not be done only on special occasions, but whenever the opportunity arises. There are many people in need, whether it be in need of food, shelter,...
Can this semester just be over now please?
